On successful completion of the Cybersecurity Apprenticeship, the apprentice is awarded a NFQ Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Cybersecurity.
The lead partner and Coordinating Provider for this apprenticeship is Fast Track into Information Technology (FIT CLG). The apprenticeship is a 2-year programme which involves completion of four six month long semesters.
Semester 1 (off-the-job) Monday-Friday
Semester 2 (off-the-job) Monday and Tuesday, (on-the-job) Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Semester 3 (off-the-job) Monday and Tuesday, (on-the-job) Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Semester 4 (off-the-job) Monday, (on-the-job) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
The apprenticeship is coordinated by FIT and is delivered by Education and Training Boards in a range of locations throughout the country.
For this Cybersecurity Apprenticeship, the employer pays the apprentice for the duration of the apprenticeship. The rate of pay is agreed between the employer and the apprentice, however suggested rates are outlined in the aligned promotional materials.
