ICT Associate Professional Software Development
On successful completion of the ICT Associate Professional Software Development apprenticeship, the apprentice is awarded a Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Computer Programming.
The lead partner for this apprenticeship is Fastrack into Information Technology (FIT). The apprenticeship is a 2-year programme which involves a 6-month block off-the-job initially followed by 3 or 4 days per week on-the-job training, and 1 or 2 days per week off the job, depending on the time of year. The apprenticeship is coordinated by FIT and is delivered by Education and Training Boards in a range of locations throughout the country.
For this ICT Associate Professional Software Development apprenticeship, the employer pays the apprentice for the duration of the apprenticeship. The rate of pay is agreed between the employer and the apprentice.
